Welcome to the P I T T S B U R G H Society of Artists Website!
The P I T T S B U R G H Society of Artists was founded in May 1965. With more than 200 members, whose work represents all visual-arts media. In 2015 PSA marked its 50th year dedicated to providing its members with opportunities to exhibit their art, both in the Pittsburgh area and beyond southwestern Pennsylvania.
In addition to providing exhibition opportunities, the Society since its inception has been dedicated to encouraging creative thinking about the arts through public dialogue. At our general membership meetings, held twice a year, the guild engages speakers to explore some aspect of the arts. The general public has always been invited to these stimulating programs.
Any individual eighteen years old or older who lives within 150 miles of Pittsburgh may apply for membership by submitting three original pieces of art to a screening by the Board of Directors. Screenings are held in the spring and fall of each year.
Congratulations and welcome to our newest members
Kim Breit, GS Broz, James Clum, Bud Dieterle, Savannah Schroll Guz, Sasha Igwe, Chris Hoke, Dennis Jones, Dennis Moran, Dan O'Donnell, Lolly Owens, Britney Smith & Jacki Temple
CALL FOR ARTISTS!
The P I T T S B U R G H Society of Artists is proud to present the Diversity Exhibition at The Manos Gallery in Tarentum, June 1 through June 29, 2024. It's about empowering people by respecting and appreciating what makes them different. Promoting thought and creating room for opposing and varied views. Diversity enriches our own perspective, helps to foster social cohesion as well as cultural preservation and evolution. Diversity in art ensures a broader range of visual stories and voices are heard. It introduces a variety of aesthetics and broadens our worldview. Diversity in art bridges gaps between styles, mediums and can foster dialogue and promote mutual respect. Join us by embracing what makes us different.
The P I T T S B U R G H Society of Artists board is looking to fill the position of Treasurer.
If interested, please contact a member of the board.
